I counted three GT3 RS models on one stretch of Via de Santa Fe last month. Three. Different colors, same energy. That car has become the unofficial mascot of a very specific type of Rancho Santa Fe buyer.
Here's what I find interesting about the GT3 RS as an ownership choice. It's loud. Not in a flashy way, more in a "I actually track this thing on weekends" way. The rear wing alone is absurd. It looks like it belongs on a race car because it basically is one. And the people buying them aren't doing it for attention. They're doing it because they're obsessed with driving dynamics, lap times, weight reduction. It's a car for people who care about the engineering more than the badge.
That tracks (no pun intended) with what I'm seeing in Rancho Santa Fe's market right now. The buyers showing up with serious intent aren't the ones looking for the biggest house on the biggest lot. They're the ones asking about ceiling heights in the garage, whether the driveway grade works for a low front splitter, and if there's enough clearance for a lift. I had a buyer last spring walk away from a $6.2M listing because the garage was an afterthought. Two car, tight turn-in, no ventilation. That was the dealbreaker. Not the kitchen, not the pool. The garage.
I think a lot of agents underestimate how much the car situation matters to this buyer profile. You can't just throw "3-car garage" in the MLS remarks and call it a day. These buyers want to know dimensions. They want to know if epoxy is already down. They want to see 220V outlets for a charger and proper lighting. Some of them are storing seven figures worth of cars in there. The garage is a room in the house. Treat it like one.
The GT3 RS starts around $230K before you get into options, and people option these things heavily. So when someone pulls up to a showing in one, you know they're serious about how they spend money. Precise, intentional, a little obsessive.
